Chocolate fudge pots


These are the perfect, indulgent Valentine's Day dessert for two. Fudgy, deeply chocolatey and covered in melting and rich ice cream, adorably topped with heart sprinkles, it is the ideal choice for a special treat for your sweetie and yourself. Best yet, you can make them with your significant other in the kitchen- they are simple, fast and easy to make. Enjoy!


Ingredients:
4 ounces milk chocolate
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
1 egg yolk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
6 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream
heart sprinkles


Method:
Preheat the one to 325 degrees F.

Prepare 2 6 ounce ramekins with butter and cocoa powder. Set aside.

Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder in a small bowl.

Melt the chocolate and cream in a microwave safe bowl in the microwave in 10 second bursts, stirring between each.

Add the sugar, egg yolk, oil and vanilla and mix well. Add in the dry mixture and mix until smooth. Divide equally between the ramekins.

Bake for 15 minutes- center will be soft. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and heart sprinkles. Enjoy!

My grandma, Mimi, taught me this recipe. I used to make this with her and my mother as a child. It is my very favorite dessert. It is incredibly easy to make, and even easier to eat. My favorite part of making this as a child was dusting every bar generously with snowy white powdered sugar.  My favorite version of this dessert uses canned blueberry pie filling; I vastly prefer Libby brand over the store brand. You can make blueberry pie filling from scratch with sugar, cornstarch, bleberries, etc. but using the canned stuff is easy in a pinch and is much for nostalgic for me. I love exploring many kinds of cuisine in my kitchen because I can control the spice level, and in the case of this recipe, the use of cilantro. Cilantro lovers out there- sub it info the parsley here.
